With a focus on new individuals and locations, this special walking tour will highlight York’s Loyalist and revolutionary politics on the eve of the Revolution, as well as its economic ties to England. Learn about the military service of York’s residents, including those who were enslaved. and the battles in which they fought. Hear about the religious and political atmosphere of York, and the activities of those who remained on the homefront.
The tour begins promptly at the Old York Museum Center at 3 Lindsay Rd. Parking is available along Lindsay Road and in Old York’s parking lot. Please arrive no later than 5 minutes prior to the start time.
The tour lasts approximately an hour, and covers a two-block area along York Street. The terrain is uneven, and comfortable shoes are recommended.
