Hands-on learning is a most valuable resource for students young and old. Our properties are fantastic centers for cultivating a deeper historical knowledge, and provide students with an opportunity to learn about the daily life of early settlers in York in an authentic environment.
Old York currently offers a variety of educational school programs for children K–8, ranging in length from 90 minutes to four hours. Our staff engages students in hands-on lessons and activities that are rich in local traditions and ideas. Students learn spinning and hearth-cooking, visit an authentic one-room school house, explore historic buildings, and discover York’s rich maritime trade history.
