Independence Day at Old York: A Community Free Day in Celebration of 250 at Old York

Please join us this July 4th, from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., to celebrate 250 at Old York. Admission is FREE.

Visit the Old Gaol, the York Corner Schoolhouse, and the Museum Center, including the Remick Gallery, which features some exciting changes highlighting items from the 18th century.

10:00 a.m. Director’s remarks at the Old Gaol

10:15 a.m. Reading of the Declaration of Independence at the Old Gaol

11:00 a.m. Colonial children’s games at the York Corner Schoolhouse

12:00 p.m. Patriot Fife and Drum Duo presentation. This is free, but space is limited and advanced registration is required.

1:00 p.m. Special walking tour: Answering the Call: York’s Wartime Service. This tour is offered free of charge. Tickets for the tour are available at the Museum Center, but registration online in advance is encouraged.

1:00 p.m. Patriot Fife and Drum Duo performance in front of the Old Gaol
